AIMday for researchers – AIMday

What is AIMday?

One challenge. One hour. Endless possibilities.

AIMday for researchers

An event like AIMday helps you focus on what can be achieved by working together and really makes things happen.

Peter Bergsten, Distinguished University Professor at Department of Medical Cell Biology, Uppsala University.

Open up new opportunities for your research

AIMday gives you insight into real needs and challenges in external organisations and how these relate to your field of research. An AIMday event can give you new ideas and contacts that you can use in your research and teaching. Perhaps there are opportunities for some form of collaboration? As a researcher, you choose which workshops you want to participate in, i.e. the challenges you want to discuss. You are not expected to come up with any answers or ready-made solutions, AIMday is about sharing knowledge and ideas with organisations and research colleagues who have a common interest in specific challenges.

Broaden your network

Connect with organisations and researchers from other disciplines who share an interest in the same challenges. AIMday builds bridges between academia and society, and also connects researchers across disciplines to tackle challenges from different perspectives.

Turning conversations into collaboration

Through collaboration we can help research have an impact and be useful in society. These collaborations can also provide new inspiration for both education and research. AIMday provides a unique opportunity to identify areas of joint interest, as well as challenges that may best be solved together. The conversations that begin at an AIMday quite simply create favourable conditions for continued contact and dialogue that can develop into collaboration taking various forms.

It's about exploring solutions – together with others

AIMday aims to connect defined challenges from external organisations with research-based knowledge. All in the hope of contributing to deeper understanding, new insights and ideas about possible solutions that can lead to collaboration between the parties. The goal is to open up for collaborations. Even though the discussions are based on concrete challenges, this does not mean that you as a researcher are expected to provide a direct answer or a ready-made solution. Instead, it is about jointly exploring different ways to meet the challenges presented by the organisations. This creates a mutual exchange of knowledge and learning. In short, as a researcher, you do not need to have the answers to everything – you contribute by your expertise and your unique perspectives.
