Responsible and Resilient Industry: 5.0

Welcome to join the discussion on the transformation of industry and society and to explore solutions for a more responsible and resilient Industry 5.0 era.

AIMday is an international collaboration concept originally developed at Uppsala University. It brings together companies, higher education experts and students for focused, solution-oriented dialogue. The aim is simple: to create meaningful conversations around real-world questions and to connect different perspectives in a constructive and practical way.

In Industry 5.0, digitalisation and automation remain important — but they are no longer enough on their own. Sustainability, resilience and human-centred development are becoming equally critical. During the day, discussions will explore current topics related to industry, energy and well-being services through small-group dialogue that encourages open exchange and concrete insights.

Tackling challenges in groups

The event follows the well-established AIMday format, where each discussion group focuses on a specific theme and brings together participants from different backgrounds. By combining academic expertise, practical industry experience and fresh student perspectives, AIMday creates a unique environment for shared learning and new ideas.

Examples of themes that may be addressed include:

  • Sustainable use of technology in industry and services
  • The role of data and automation in strengthening resilience
  • New solutions for responsible production and operations
  • Human-centred development models in a rapidly changing environment
  • Innovative approaches to improving worker well-being through digitalisation

Each discussion group lasts approximately one hour and is designed to foster diverse interaction and the exchange of perspectives. Each group typically consists of one facilitator, one expert, two students, and around six company representatives. This composition allows for a balanced mix of practical experience, academic knowledge, and fresh student insights, supporting constructive discussions aimed at addressing the challenges presented.

AIMday offers an opportunity to share knowledge, broaden networks and discover new perspectives for developing industry and services in a changing world. Join us in building dialogue that supports a more sustainable, resilient and human-focused future.

Please note that the discussion groups will be conducted mainly in Finnish. The only exception is Group 4 in both time slots, where the discussion will be held in English.
