Welcome to AIMday Climate

Climate change is creating complex, urgent, risks and opportunities for every organisation. It affects how you design products, operate supply chains and plan for the future. These challenges are complex and fast moving; progress depends on collaboration across sectors and no single organisation can tackle them alone.

Industry needs solutions that work in the real world. Universities bring cutting-edge research, independent expertise, and the ability to explore ideas at depth. AIMday Climate creates a unique space where these two worlds meet. You bring a specific challenge, we match you with leading academic experts to explore ideas, test assumptions and gain practical insight.

AIMday Climate provides a focused, low-risk opportunity to:

  • explore solutions to your most pressing climate-related challenges
  • connect with interdisciplinary expertise
  • spark collaborations that can lead to lasting impact

If your organisation wants to move from ambition to action, AIMday Climate is your opportunity to be part of the conversation, and the solution.

This event is taking place in collaboration with Priestley Centre for Climate Futures and Nexus at the University of Leeds, and EarthScale.

How to participate

To take part in AIMday Climate, organisations are invited to submit between one and three challenge questions they want to explore in focused, one-hour workshops. Questions should reflect real-world challenges and opportunities. Each challenge is discussed by small, interdisciplinary group of academic experts, creating space for open exploration, knowledge exchange, and the identification of potential pathways forward, The organising committee will review all submissions and may request clarification or combine similar questions.

The AIMday format: One Question. One hour. A small group of academic experts.

Each accepted question will be discussed by a multidisciplinary group of academics selected for their relevant expertise, subject to sufficient researcher interest. Workshops are typically open to other participating organisations where this adds value, although closed sessions can be arranged if required.

While no formal follow-up activities are required, AIMdaydiscussions often lead to new connections, joint funding applications, and longer-term collaborations.

If you would like help with shaping or refining your question, please contact the organisers at: j.r.candia@leeds.ac.uk.

Register your participation by submitting your challenge(s) via the registration page for organisations by Friday 27 March 2026.
