Quantum Computing

Academic-Industry-Meeting day (AIMday©) Quantum Computing Applications V4 is an opportunity for organisations to submit challenges, meet experts, explore solutions, and develop new relationships. Our event is delivered by QCA Cluster, QCi3 Hub, and IQN Hub, bringing together one of the largest networks of experts to help you on your quantum technology readiness journey.

The AIMday© concept is simple. Organisations register by submitting ‘challenges’. We match expert scientists, researchers, and students to your challenge. On the day, several one-hour workshops are delivered in parallel to explore solutions and ways of working together. We will do our best to accommodate up to 16 parallel workshops, each workshop shall comprise 8 – 12 attendees. Each workshop is facilitated by the organiser, to ensure the event is a valuable experience for all participants.

What ‘challenges’ are suitable?

Quantum Computing has the potential to solve computationally hard problems in optimisation, simulation, machine learning, and cryptography. Solving these problems may have transformational impact in Healthcare & Life Sciences, Materials & Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, Finance, Energy, and Data Science & AI.

If you are working in these areas, and have an interest in how quantum computing can benefit you, our AIMday© is your perfect opportunity. For inspiration and ideas on how quantum computing might be applied to end-user sectors, please see the National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC) Quantum Computing Use-Case Compendium.

Past AIMday© Quantum Computing Applications V3 (2025) challenges can be found here.

Post-AIMday©

After the event, facilitators will share workshop attendees, topics discussed, and actions. These notes will be shared with all participants. We proactively encourage organisations and participants to connect, follow-up and explore ways of innovating together. AIMday© is an opportunity to make new connections and to find opportunities for future collaboration.

Location

This event will take place on Friday, 12 June 2026 from 0900 – 1700 hours at the John McIntyre Conference Centre, Pollock Halls, 18 Holyrood Park Rd, Edinburgh, EH16 5AY.
